Reflections, Scott Campenhausen

The Arts Center Killingworth returns to the Madison Connecticut Town Green for its annual Autumn Outdoor Arts Festival, Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct, 10, noon to 5 p.m., with a rain date of Monday Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will feature new and original artwork and fine crafts by established and emerging artists from throughout Connecticut and the tri-state region. The festival is located at Boston Post Road (Route 1) and Copse Road and includes representational and abstract painting, as well as photography, mixed media, collage, and more. Artisans exhibiting on the green feature those working in pottery, wood, fabric, glass, paper, gourds, and jewelry designs in precious/semi-precious stones, silver, and other fine materials.

Entrance to the festival is free and pets are welcome. For a sneak peak of participating artists, visit spectrumartgallery.org for online galleries.

The festival offers a variety of unique local food selections and live musical performances. For 2021, music on Saturday afternoon is with The Jan Jungden Trio All that Jazz! with Jungen on vocals, keyboards, and flute; Fred Fagan on bass; and Rob Gottfried on drums.

On Sunday, singer-songwriter Harold Walker blends a variety of styles into an acoustic performance that encompasses folk, rock, Americana, and soul.

As a complement to the Madison Green event, Spectrum Gallery and Artisans Store, 61 Main Street, Centerbrook presents Changing Seasons, an exhibit of select works by participating artists in the Autumn Festival. This six-week gallery show is open to the public and runs through Sunday, Nov. 7 with gallery hours Wednesday through Saturday (noon to 6 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 5 p.m.).
