9/11 20th Anniversary Commemoration and Remembrance Events on the Connecticut Shoreline


Several 9/11 commemorations have been planned in Connecticut and along the shoreline.

• The State of Connecticut’s annual 9/11 memorial ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

North Haven

• Remembering September 11th—Movie Showing 9/11, at the Community Room of the North Haven Public Library, 17 Elm Street, North Haven, on Friday, Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. No registration is required. More information is available at www.northhavenlibrary.net/programs-adult.

East Haven

•September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed The World Poster Exhibition

The Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more about the 911 Memorial Poster Exhibition, visit www.911memorial.org/learn/resources/digital-exhibitions/september-11-2001-day-changed-world. Registration not required. • 9/11 Memorial Honoring Transit & Port Authority Workers at the Shoreline Trolley Museum, on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guilford

• Commemoration Event: On Saturday, Sept. 11, the VFW and American Legion will hold a ceremony on the Guilford Green at 9 a.m.

Madison

• Remembrance Events: On Saturday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m., in front of the First Congregational Church on the Town Green. A Healing Field flag display will be unveiled on Friday, Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. More information can be found at www.healingfield.org. The flags will remain up until Sunday, Sept. 19.

Deep River
