The Madison Lions Club is collecting eyeglasses for recycling at several locations.

Since records started being maintained in 2003, 32,513 pair of used eyeglasses have been collected and sent to a Lions processing center in West Trenton, New Jersey for recycling. The eyeglasses are cleaned, categorized by strength, and packaged, then shipped to a location where a need exists.

These boxes can be found at the following Madison locations:

Act II, The Thrift Store; Drs. Alan & Patricia Ecker; Guilford Savings Bank, both locations; Roberts Shopping Center; The Hearth at Tuxis Pond; Madison Dry Cleaners; Madison Eye Care; Madison Optical; Madison Senior Center; Madison Social Services; Madison Town Hall, Town Campus; Opticare St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church; Dr. Serle Epstein; and First Congregational Church.
