Help! Miss Elaine, the children’s librarian at the Deep River Public Library, has too many Oreos left over from Summer Reading! She will provide Oreos for those who would like to grab the rest of the ingredients for a tasty recipe that will be made during a Snack Attack session Zoom on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all.

Other ingredients required to make this tasty treat including 1 tablespoon flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 4 teaspoons white sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and one Oreo.

If you’re not able to make it to the Deep River Library, 150 Main Street, Deep River, to pick up the Oreo, you are welcome to supply your own.

Kitchen tools required include measuring spoons, one mug, and one fork.

Adult assistance for younger children is recommended as mugs can be a little hot coming out of the microwave. This program will be held through Zoom. Please visit the calendar website or Facebook events page for the registration link and Zoom meeting information. Registration is only necessary if those who wish to pick up Oreos from the library.

More information is available at deepriverlibrary.accountsupport.com, by clicking on the monthly calendar, or by calling the library at 860-526-6039 during service hours: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Earlier cooking lessons offered by the Deep River Public Library include a cheesy bites recipe that resulted in something a lot like a Cheezit. Mila shows off her finished work.Photo courtesy of the Deep River Public Library
