Free Narcan Training Offered Via Zoom

The Alliance for Prevention and Wellness is offering a series of training sessions on Narcan, also known as naloxone, an antidote for opioids including heroin and prescription pain pills including oxycodone, codeine, and morphine. Narcan, a prescription medicine blocks the effects of opioids and can reverse an overdoes.

The Zoom meetings held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 20 and Nov. 3 and 17. Registration in advance is required for all of the meetings.

The training will include overdose prevention strategies, signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to administer naloxone, the Good Samaritan law, and support information and resources. Narcan kits will be made available to those who register.
