Clinton Art Society Exhibits Continue Through Oct. 31

Around the Bend, Beverly Schirmeier

Clinton Art Society’s satellite exhibits will continue through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Pastelist and Madison resident Beverly Schirmeier is the featured artist at Water’s Edge Resort Gallery, 1525 Boston Post Road, Westbrook through Oct. 31. Her oil paintings and pastels are inspired by the color and light used by the Lyme Impressionists. They include New England landscapes and still life art work. All of the landscapes are done en plein air outdoors on location. Waters Edge Resort Gallery is open daily between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. and during all hotel hours and special events.

Artist, retired arts educator, and Old Saybrook resident Thomas G. Mayer, along with watercolorist, interior designer, and Westbrook resident Dee Mozzochi, are the featured artists at Liberty Bank/Stanton Professional Building Gallery, 8 East Main Street, Clinton through Oct. 31. Mayer is an avid plein air painter on the Connecticut shoreline who creates abstract paintings and collages using traditional hard-edge painting techniques. Mozzochi is primarily a watercolorist with an affinity for and love of floral design is reflected in her delicate watercolors. Her playful and imaginative acrylics are also on display. Liberty Bank/Stanton Professional Building Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
