Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan

This love story, the latest from Kevin Kwan, also the author of Crazy Rich Asians, is billed as “a daring homage to A Room with a View.” I wondered whether it’d more of an homage or a rip-off or worse, just silly. But Kwan’s lovable, original characters and clever writing kept me quickly turning the pages to find out how it would end, even as it respected the trajectory of E.M. Forster’s original. A fun summer read.
