Based on real-life characters, I was introduced to an overlooked hero of World War II, Nancy Wake. Because of her iron will, her grit, her bravery, she lived with the Resistance in the countryside of France and led them on many successful missions leading up to and beyond D-Day. Superb writing. I’m just so glad I picked up this book!
