We all miss being out and about, and able to partake in activities like art museums, yoga, and fitness classes.

The only good news lately seems to be the number of organizations and individuals who offer those are taking these activities online in an effort to continue to serve their friends, neighbors, and customers.

This is a great resource, most of them free, for us as we try to stay busy and healthy at home.

For those who are able, remember to give back if you can, by donating or otherwise supporting those who are offering these free services and resources.

Here are just a few examples. If you know of others, or if you are offering something that people can take advantage of while at home, email the information and a picture to me at p.mcnerney@shorepublishing.com and we’ll try to include it in an upcoming issue.

• The Yale University Art Gallery is closed through at least mid-April, but it is alway open online at artgallery.yale.edu. Resources include American painting and sculpture, European art, art of the ancient Americas, prints and drawings, ancient art, modern and contemporary art, and Asian art. If you visit the Kids and Families page at artgallery.yale.edu/education-overview/kids-and-families, there is even a Guide for Families.

• Robin Brace of Bikram Yoga in Madison is offering free online yoga classes on Facebook live. She also is planning to set up classes through Zoom, so she can interact and give alignment directions, along with providing meditations, and meet-ups. More information is available on the True Bikram website www.truebikramyoga.com.

• Those of you who have visited Brace’s studio may be familiar with author and professional tarot card reader Christiana Gaudet. While based in Florida, she’s visited Madison several times to offer classes and workshops. She offers a wide variety of resources through her Facebook page at facebook.com/christianatarot. She does weekly readings on Facebook live where she’s happy to pull a card for anyone who joins in.

• Shannon Cushing of North Haven, the marketing manager at Shore Publishing, who is also a ballet teacher at Studio BE in North Haven, is offering adult barre classes through Zoom. “As always, the barre is judgement free and a mental and physical escape. Join us if your schedule allows,” she says. Get an invite by emailing her at shannon.cushing@hotmail.com.
