Volunteers Sought for Next Guilford Performing Arts Festival

Meg Smith and Simone Gell, both of Guilford, were among 60 volunteers who pitched in to help make the 2019 Guilford Performing Arts Festival a success. Smith and Gell took the lead on producing the Dinner on the Guilford Green benefit event for the ‘19 fest. Volunteers for the festival, which will next take place in 2021, are now being sought. The Guilford Performing Arts Festival, which will be offered once again in 2021, is seeking volunteers to help put together the next festival, which is an all-volunteer production.

People with expertise in marketing, development, and production are sought. There are also some openings on the board of directors, along with the finance, marketing, and programming committees.

As the 2021 festival gets closer, there will also be a need for volunteer work on the many logistics required to stage an event, which is expected to feature more than 50 shows. Help will be needed to greet artists and audiences; work on staging, sound and lighting; coordinate logistics at multiple venues; spread the word; and handle environmental duties to help put on the greenest festival possible.

More than 60 people pitched in to make the 2019 festival a success.
