11/13/2019 11:01 PMI can’t imagine a more pleasant read than this mystery. Arlen has a wonderful way with words and brings alive the day-to-day life of a small village in England with details that make me want to move to Little Buffenden and spend time with its unique inhabitants, each brimming with character. Intelligent but down to earth, passionate but sensible, Poppy, the lead character, with her stalwart dog, Bessie, has to navigate through tensions created not only by the war, but two murders. I was sad to leave this book when it was done.
