Local Stars Once Again Raise the Roof

Jenny and Bill Smith of Branford

Raise the Roof, the Shoreline Habitat connection, is once again inviting local stars and the shoreline community to tear up the dance floor on Friday, Nov. 15 for the Gala of Stars: Dancing for the Cause.

The stars are competing for votes in the form of donations. Donations can be made at www.raisetheroofct.org, where tickets to the gala event can also be purchased.

The dancers will be helping to provide families with the opportunity to build and own their own safe, affordable homes. Their dance lessons have begun, and the stars are already competing for donations.

The Raise the Roof’s 2019 stars are

• Vickie Adorno of Westbrook and Jeff Graybill of Old Lyme

• Colleen and Sean Alexander of Madison

• Amy and Matt Earls of Guilford

• Merideth and Michael Hentschel of Guilford

• Dee and Bob Jacob of Guilford

• Erin McAvoy and Chip Walz of Madison

• Sharon and Doug Shoemaker of Madison

• Jenny and Bill Smith of Branford

• Chloe Thompson and Ethan Richmond of Madison

The stars will learn choreographed ballroom routines with the help of 10 private lessons provided by Arthur Murray Guilford, Raise the Roof’s event partner. The dancing stars will perform on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Gala of Stars: Dancing for the Cause at The WoodWind, 29 School Ground Road, Branford, 6:30 to 11 p.m.

The gala will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a three-course plated dinner, and dancing for everyone.

Raise the Roof partners with and works within the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven.
