Cooking for Good Times by Paul Kahan

I don’t cook often or particularly well, and so I was intrigued by this gorgeous collection of basics with the premise that a good meal need not be fancy. Fresh ingredients. Good wine. The best of friends. Appetizers morph into main courses. Not too much time spent cooking. From the roasted chicken to the grilled onion and crumbly cheese, the author writes, “the ethos of this book is preparing a meal in the least complicated way possible, and putting up food that’s super-duper tasty, and most important, enjoying the company and the surroundings.”
