The Dudley Foundation will celebrate its annual Harvest Day and the foundation’s 25th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 am. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Dudley Farm Museum on the northeast corner of routes 80 and 77 in Guilford.

While there is no fee for attending, a non-perishable item for the Guilford Food Bank is requested.

This free event features demonstrations and activities for all ages as well as the popular Farmers’ Market. Demonstrations include spinning, rug hooking, soap making, working with an ox, making sauerkraut, and other activities typical of a 19th century New England farm.

Visitors can listen to stories of farm life in the late 19th century told by Martha Munger Dudley, as enacted by a foundation volunteer; visit the farm animals; and visit the grounds of this 10.5 acre property. Tours of The Dudley Farm Museum include the ca. 1845 farmhouse, and tours of the Native American Museum housed in the Munger Barn on the property.

The centerpiece of this event is the restored Big Barn, which will be open to the public for viewing.
