Author Talk on Using Movement to Manage Pain


Local author Maggie Downie will talk about her book, Keep Moving: Take Steps to Relieve Pain and Improve Your Life on Monday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Deep River Public Library, 150 Main Street, Deep River, with a focus on the benefits of movement.

Downie has run a fitness and wellness company, Personal Euphoria, in the Greater Hartford area for more than 10 years. Her book came out in October and is filled with the most recent research on chronic pain and how movement can be used as a healthy, safe tool for pain management.

Downie will give a short talk on how to learn small steps to reduce and manage pain without drugs or surgery, with ample time for questions. Copies of her book will be available for purchase. The event is free and open to all, no registration is required.
