Can the Spirits of the Departed Really Speak to Us On Earth?

Do you believe the spirits of the departed can speak with us here on earth? Geraldine Brown Giomblanco, the author of Geraldina & the Compass Rose: One Woman’s Faith-Filled Journey to Find Love, is convinced they can, if you just know how to listen. Photo courtesy of Geraldine Brown Giomblanco

The spirits of the departed can speak with us here on earth, and it’s worth our while to learn how to listen, says Geraldine Brown Giomblanco, who wants to share her story to help prove that.

She’ll be talking about her story, and her recently published memoir, Geraldina & the Compass Rose: One Woman’s Faith-Filled Journey to Find Love, at an event on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Rock Paper Sista’s, 17 Whitfield Street, Guilford.

She promises to share some “goose bumping” stories, and offers it as a kind of alternative Halloween event, one meant to honor All Saint’s Day, on Friday, Nov. 1, as much as anything.

True Love, Happiness

Giomblanco’s story includes the many memorable experiences and coincidences in her life, including a chance meeting in a far away airport with a man who gave her three pieces of advice and then vanished from her life.

“He told me that I was going to receive a gift, and to never lose the little girl in me, and that my grandmother had a message for me,” says Giomblanco, an author, speaker, and coach who lives in Clinton.

She says that chance encounter stayed with her through the years, through many ups and downs, and through the bad times when she was tempted to lose hope. Several other chance encounters with angels throughout her life, she says, encounters she is certain were guided by her late grandmother, led her to her true love (it took her 30 years to find the right person and she says it was worth the wait) and happiness.

Encountering Angels

She wants to share her story she says, because she wants to encourage people to get in touch with their deeper senses so that they can be open to messages from loved ones who have departed and who want to provide guidance. She says her particular experience is guided by her strong Catholic faith, but that her message is one meant for anyone of any religion.

“We encounter these angels all of the time. That is out there for all of us and it’s up to us as to how we interpret it,” she says. “I listened to that man in the airport. I didn’t lose that little girl in me. And I love the fairy tales that life gives us. And it’s not about religion. It’s about where it comes from inside of you. The more you tap into you, the more beautiful surprises await you. Why wouldn’t I want to be joyful about these coincidences? It’s a beautiful story and it’s meant to be shared. I think it can touch lives.”
