The second annual River Valley Artists tour of the studios and work spaces of artists in Chester, Essex, and Deep River will be Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The tour is a chance to see where artists make their creations, whether a kitchen table or a well- appointed studio overlooking the Connecticut River, and to view a wide selection of their work, all of which will be for sale.

In addition, the tour will include, for the first time, an exhibit at the Essex Art Association Gallery, 10 North Main Street, Essex, during the same time, in addition to a gala opening the evening of Friday Sept. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be work in the gallery by the tour participants as well as a number of paintings and sculptures by 10 other noted artists from the three towns.

The 42 participants on the tour and in the gallery represent a wide range of styles, medium, and price points including abstract, origami, and traditional oil landscapes.

Refreshments will be served at each site and at the gallery. There are no fees and there is no need to sign up in advance.

Brochures are available at many locations in the region. Maps and more information also are available at www.rivervslleyartists.com, the rivervalleyartists Facebook page and rivervallyarttour Instagram page.
