Connecticut poets Dennis Barone, Suellyn Callaghan, and Karen Torop will read in the Laurel Ann Olcott Art Center, Clinton Art Gallery, 20 East Main Street, Clinton, on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

This will be the sixth reading in the 2019 Clinton Art Gallery’s Poetry Place Series, which began in 2016.

Since that time, the Sunday Series, with poetry readings from April through November, has featured a variety of noted poets.

There also will be an open mic that same day and a display of arts and crafts in the gallery, which was recently awarded a Best on the Shoreline 2019 Reader’s Choice Award.

The gallery also offers a selection of writing and art workshops throughout the year. The reading is free and open to the public, and audience members are encouraged to come early, as seating is limited. Wine, cool drinks, snacks, and sweets will be served, and books will be available for sale and signing following the reading.

Barone is the author of seven books of short fiction, two novellas, and a collection of prose poems.

Callaghan began writing poetry in 2016 as a creative outlet to balance her technology-oriented career in health information administration. She works for a healthcare-related computer software company.

Torop is a poet and a psychotherapist. Her poems have been published in numerous journals.

More information is available by calling Pat Barone at pattonybarone@aol.com or 203-627-4148.
