I’ve never had a poké bowl, and have never been to Hawaii for that matter, but the cover picture on this slim volume was enticing. I was not disappointed. Inside was a whole new way to think about food and fun ways to combine it. Warrington breaks down each of the components of a bowl (base, main, sauce, toppings), and then shows how to combine them for an endless array of options. My favorites were the sauces—from a basic ginger miso to shiso chimichurri—which would brighten up any meal.
