07/18/2019 12:01 AMEmpire of Light will perform at the Leif Nilsson Spring Street Studio and Gallery, 1 Spring Street, Chester, on Saturday, July 20 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Drawing inspiration from the first wave of alternative country—including early Wilco, Alejandro Escovedo, The Waco Brothers, and Whiskeytown as well as traditional country and rock such as Neil Young, The Band, The Faces, and The Stones—Brooklyn-based Empire of Light brings together frontman Peter Hutchison and guitarist Brian Wilkens with rhythm section and veteran sidemen Keith Robinson and Dan Green.

A $20 donation for the concert is requested. It is BYOB and picnic, with outdoor bistro-style seating in the amphitheater, rain or shine. Gates open a half hour before the show, and it’s first-come, first-seated.
The Chester Package Store is across the street and food is available in the area from a variety of restaurants. Little House Brewing Company is next door.
