A founding member of Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board will be the keynote speaker at the 13th annual meeting Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant, 22 Chesterfield Road, East Lyme. It is open to the public.

Michael Garabedian, PhD, professor and course director at New York University Medical Center, will talk about the importance of continued funding for cancer research. He will also highlight some of the researchers who have received TBBCF grants and are looking for a cure and discovering less invasive and more targeted treatments for those diagnosed with breast cancer.

“Our recipients are doing fabulous work,” Garabedian said. “Most have used the money well and gone into further research.”

Additional information can be obtained and reservations can be made by contacting TBBCF at 860-437-1400 or info@tbbcf.org.

TBBCF is a New London-based non-profit with a mission to donate 100 percent of fundraising dollars to breast cancer research. The organization has raised more than $4.4 million, which has been awarded to 44 scientists searching for a cure and improving treatments for breast cancer.
