The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center will feature Jake Huffman, formerly of the McLovins, and his new band The Layovr on Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m.

Huffman is the former drummer/vocalist/songwriter of the McLovins, a Connecticut-based jam band that formed when the members were in their teens. Huffman will be playing new tracks as well as music from his catalog of the past 11 years. While staying busy touring and recording during the McLovins’ run, he has found time to collaborate with other writers and musicians including Phish’s Tom Marshall. Huffman also co-wrote a song for Sesame Street with Bill Sherman called “Counting the You’s in YouTube” that was performed by The Count.

The Foresters open the night with their original sound of psychedelic garage blended with pop riffs. This Bethany-based indie rock band consists of three Nork brothers and assorted friends. For the past several years they have been impressing critics along the indie scene and placed second in 2018 in the CTNow.com Song and Album of the Year music review.
