The Metropolitan Opera Talk Series continues at Guilford Free Library on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. Mezzo-soprano and Yale professor Janna Baty will discuss Bizet’s beloved opera Carmen. The production at the Met features mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine. She reprises her renowned portrayal of opera’s ultimate seductress, a triumph in her 2017 debut performances, with tenors Yonghoon Lee and Roberto Alagna as her lover, Don José. Carmen will be shown at the Branford Regal Cinemas and at The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 2.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and Shoreline Village CT and is free and open to all. Registration is requested and can be done in person at the reference desk, online, or over the phone, 203-453-8282.
