Local Poets Launch New Collection

A group of 14 local poets are celebrating a decade together by launching a new collection of poetry titled Where the River Bends on Thursday, Oct. 18. The reading will be at 6.30 p.m. in the Clinton Art Gallery’s Laurel Ann Olcott Art Center at 20 East Main Street, Clinton.

The monthly meetings of the Connecticut River Poets at Two Wrasslin’ Cats in East Haddam give these poets a chance to share and critique each other’s work, and each piece in the book has been polished by the process. Printed at Perennial Press in Lyme, the book includes a letterpress embossed cover; the poems are printed on archival paper.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served, and copies of Where the River Bends will be available for purchase. Space is limited, so audience members are encouraged to arrive early to reserve a seat and explore the original art work and crafts available for sale.
