Beth Payne, director of the Dudley Farm Museum, will give an illustrated talk about 19th century farming in North Guilford at the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, Guilford on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

After 1720, North Guilford, once known as Cohabit, rapidly developed as the agricultural section of the town of Guilford. By the beginning of the 19th century the North Guilford Dudley family, along with several other old established Guilford families, had successful farming operations and the community thrived. This is the story of farming in 19th century North Guilford, and the community ties that developed.

The event is co-sponsored by the Dudley Farm Museum. Places at the talk can be reserved by calling the library at 203-453-8282 or by signing up online at www.guilfordfreelibrary.org.
