The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis

The Grand Central School of Art within Grand Central Terminal in 1928 is the setting for a wonderful tale. In 1974 the same decrepit and dirty terminal is in the process of being demolished and replaced by a skyscraper. It is however saved as a landmark through the efforts of a destitute, strong, and resilient woman. A painting from the former art school is the backbone of the story. Like her other novels, author Davis goes between decades with two different women connected to saving a piece of New York City history. Thoroughly researched, this story is one not to miss!
