09/13/2018 12:01 AMA group of us decided to try the food at the Black Hall Grille in Old Lyme. The restaurant has had a number of owners. I had eaten there a few times in other incarnations, and wasn’t keen on going again, until my friend Nancy Free vouched for it. She said it was terrific. I wasn’t as hungry as my friends, since I had a tomato sandwich at home earlier that day, so I ordered the iceberg wedge with cherry tomatoes, bacon, and two dressing, a blue cheese and a reduced balsamic It was delicious, although I thought the balsamic was a bit over the top. As for my friends, they had shared calamari, seared tuna, seafood pasta, and tacos with blackened shrimp. They were all very happy, and even ordered dessert.
