Anyone who saw Jaws in 1975 will remember the pulsing two-note theme: It starts slowly in the opening scene, and then accelerates as a great white shark draws closer and closer to its unsuspecting victim. The scene and the music terrorized us then—and perhaps kept a few of us out of the water that summer. Now, thanks to The Kate’s new summer movie series, we can experience that scene again, but this time, The Kate’s new surround-sound system will immerse viewer right in the midst of those screaming waders.

Jaws, showing on June 25, is the first film in The Kate’s new summer Movie Mondays series. Jaws will be followed by a screening of Up on July 2, Grease on July 9, Raiders of the Lost Ark on July 23, Mary Poppins on July 30, Ghostbusters on Aug. 6, Footloose on Aug. 13, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on Aug. 20. Anyone who’s been following the news knows that the Grassy Strip Music Series at Madison Beach Hotel is no longer, but Water’s Edge Resort is offering live outdoor music from 6 to 10 p.m. on various nights of the week throughout the summer, complete with cozy fire pits and a lovely vista down to Long Island Sound.
