12/13/2017 11:01 PMThe trailer for the coming of age story Love, Simon, based on the novel Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, has just been released. The story, revolving around a teenager named Simon (Nick Robinson) who is a closeted gay who falls for an anonymous classmate online, could be a potential game changer since it is a rare LGBT film backed by a major studio, 20th Century Fox, but in the wake of Moonlight winning Best Picture, it seems fitting for studios to realize that Moonlight winning is a sign that more movies like it deserve to be told. The film co-stars Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Garner, Katharine Langford of 13 Reasons Why fame, and X-Men: Apocalypse’s Alexandra Shipp.
Love, Simon is set to come out in theaters on Friday, March 16.
