Don’t Make it Cry

I’m always somewhat amused and a bit appalled by the sheer number of choices in the spaghetti sauce aisle at Stop & Shop and other supermarkets. It’s enough to make the uninitiated weep. Someone sends you to the store to pick up the jar of sauce, and you’re faced with dozens and dozens of choices, each of them potentially wrong. I usually head right for the Rao’s Marinara and was surprised to find, recently, yet another choice from Rao’s. The label said “Sensitive Marinara Sauce.” Seriously? I promptly posted it to Facebook and began to make fun of it. Then, one of my friends who is hyper-sensitive to onions and garlic noted that it was made without just that, onions and garlic, but with the other ingredients that makes Rao’s, in our opinion, so great. Fine. If she likes it, I’ll stop making fun of it, and get some for when she next comes to dinner.
