Alex Blum was a positive force in his Denver community. A goal-driven athlete, popular in school and held up as a role model, no one doubted that he would achieve his lifelong goal of becoming an Army Ranger. Against his parents’ wishes, Alex joined the army upon graduating from high school and pursued that rank with dogged determination.
