Exhibition Features Local Talent, Area Scenes

The Guilford Art League (GAL) is continuing to celebrate its 70th anniversary with the Fall 2017 Member Exhibition, which is on view through Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at the Guilford Community Center’s Menunkatuck Room (second floor).

There are 34 paintings in this show in a wide range of mediums and both abstract and representational styles. The work is installed with the new Walker Display picture-hanging system, which eliminates the need for nails on the walls. GAL invested in this professional system to use for all future shows.

Diana Perron, GAL’s coordinator of member exhibitions, said, “This show attests to the very high level of local talent and features many paintings of area scenes.”

The GAL mounts three member shows a year—in the fall, winter, and spring—and most of the artworks are for sale. For more information or to purchase a painting, call Diana Perron at 203-488-5768.

The Guilford Community Center is located at 32 Church Street, Guilford. The exhibition is free and open to the public seven days a week unless the room is being used for a class or a meeting.
