The After Party by Anton DiSclafani

Can we ever fully know somebody, even our closest friends? Joan and Cece have been close as sisters since childhood; they grew up together and have faced most of life’s most trying moments together. But it’s always been an imbalanced relationship, and Cece is tired of it all. The After Party is set in the hot Texas homes of the 1950s elite. There are cocktails by the pool, champagne in the clubs, pristine clothing, perfectly coiffed hair, and perfect families. Or so it seems. These closets hide more skeletons than cocktail dresses. This is a wonderful read about what it means to stick by your friends, and what it might cost you.
