Staff Suggestion: A Reuben at Abby’s

Laura Robida, our web ninja, recently had lunch at Abby’s Place, which is right on the Connecticut River on 37 Pratt Street, Essex. She came back raving about the Reuben Polanski sandwich. The Reuben is served on seeded rye bread that is toasted, and includes all the traditional fixings including Swiss cheese, warm pastrami, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. While I often think of Abby’s as a great place during the summer, Laura reminded me it’s a wonderful place to visit in the fall as well, with great views not only of the Connecticut River, but of the leaves turning as well. The day she and her family visited, mariners were busy pulling their boats out of the water for the season. Find out more by calling 860-767-0560 or visiting www.abbysplacect.com.
