Staff Suggestion: Date Pudding at River Tavern

My guiding philosophy is: desserts that aren’t drenched in chocolate are a waste of time. Well, I’m rethinking that mindset, thanks to the date pudding ($12) at River Tavern, 23 Main Street, in Chester. This piece de resistance is extravagantly delicious. It’s accompanied by dark rum caramel sauce and whipped cream. Warning: You have to order it at the start of your meal, because of the prep time. Boy, will you be happy you did.
