Reader Recommendation: Squash Salad with Blistered Cranberries

At the end of September, Moxie, at 52 Wall Street, Madison, rolled out its new fall menu, and it was just a few days later that I got this reader recommendation from Dave Anderson: a roasted squash salad with blistered cranberries, sage-brown butter, candied pumpkin seeds, arugula, and creme fraiche. If you’re vegan or gluten-free, it can be adapted to suit your needs. It’s just one of several new items on the fall menu. Others include smoked bone marrow with a cherry-bourbon compote, chicken and dumplings with black pepper and herb spatzli, a grilled hanger steak with bacon cream sauce, and ricotta gnocchi with a saffron and San Marzano sauce. For Mac Crack lovers (made with five cheeses) have no fear, it’s still there. Same with the bacon and bourbon mussels, and we’ve been assured that it will remain on the menu well into the future.
