Vincent Giarrano at Susan Powell Gallery

Walking on Spring Street, Vincent Giarrano

The Susan Powell Gallery, 679 Boston Post Road, Madison, is hosting a reception for the opening of Vincent Giarrano’s ninth annual solo show. The opening reception is Friday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. Wine and appetizers will be served, and the artist will meet visitors. The reception is free and open to all.

Giarrano’s city women, along with his New York street scenes and interiors, have become a focal point for collectors. His images capture the many sides of the city with detail, perspective, and beautiful rich color. From gritty spray-painted walls to classic, old building façades and unforgettable portraits of New York life, he feels the pulse of the city and transcends it onto canvas. There will be 30 new paintings in this exciting exhibition.

“My work has a narrative element to it, there is a certain amount of mystery and history about each person and place. What I love about the city is that it is constantly changing, providing endless inspiration,” Giarrano says.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and anytime by appointment. For more information, call 203-318-0616 or visit www.susanpowellfineart.com.
