The Guilford Art League (GAL) 2017 juried show continues through Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Guilford Art Center’s Mill Gallery on Route 77 in Guilford.

GAL began in 1947, when a group of local artists strung a clothesline across the Guilford Green and exhibited their work on the line. Now in its 70th year, GAL promotes interest in the visual arts; supports artists of all ages, abilities, mediums, and styles; and organizes numerous exhibits and social events each year for its almost 200 members.

Sheila Kaczmarek, current GAL president, says, “The league plays an invaluable role for artists in what can otherwise be rather lonely. We offer the chance to interact with like-minded artists, to receive knowledgeable feedback and to exhibit work on a regular basis.”
