A Bite to Eat and a Good Book

I ran into my friend Carlene at R.J. Julia Booksellers recently and she gave me a happy hour recommendation I want to pass along. She says the Happy Hour Buffet/Dinner Specials at Café Allegre, across the street and just down the block a bit from the bookstore, is fabulous. I checked out the details online and Chef Silvio is offering six selections, for six dollars each with the purchase of wine or cocktail at the bar. The offerings include a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, chicken parm, cheese ravioli, and tilapia. The special is currently running Tuesday through Friday at Café Allegre, 725 Boston Post Road, Madison from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. And, since RJJ is open those nights until 8 p.m., you can always pop by the bookstore on your way home to snag a good read for the rest of your evening.
