Hellhound on His Trail by Hampton Sides

If you are interested in history and also enjoy a compelling thriller, this is a must read. Rarely is a true story so gripping. Sides gives such a thorough account of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in Memphis on April 4, 1968 that, no matter how knowledgeable you are about the event, you will learn so much more. The identification and tracking of James Earl Ray from unknown assailant to captured fugitive is riveting. Given the well-know animus of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover for Dr. King, the agents of the FBI felt additional motivation to do their work well. The detailed account of the masterful work done by the FBI agents illustrates their skill and dedication that brought the case to a successful conclusion.
