Tempted

I have to admit, I haven’t gone down the veggie noodle path yet. My kitchen is tiny, the shelves are crowded, and I don’t want yet another gadget, even one with a name as cute as the spiralizer. But I recently learned that FoodWorks Natural Market, 940 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook is stocking zucchini spirals and butternut spirals, already all noodled up from the Veggie Noodle Co. The noodle company’s website, veggienoodleco.com, is packed with interesting recipes, including “spicy breakfast sausage and sweet potato spirals shashuka,” and “creamy butternut spirals with bacon and spinach.” Sounds pretty good. And besides, I like one of the company mottos: “Meet the whole family. We’re just like yours, simple but twisted.” I’m tempted to try them. If you get to them before I do, and have an opinion and a recipe you’d like to share, email me at p.mcnerney@shorepublishing.com.
