The Yale Program on Climate Change (YPCC) Communication will sponsor a free screening of An Inconvenient Sequel, the long-awaited follow-up to An Inconvenient Truth, on Friday, July 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Before the screening from 5 to 6 p.m., there will be a one-hour reception with appetizers.

YPCC Communication Director Anthony Leiserowitz and Kalee Kreider, the U.N. Foundation senior climate advisor and Al Gore’s former communications director, will have a brief question and answer session after the film. This screening and reception are open to the public. To sign up, visit www.eventbrite.com and search for An Inconvenient Sequel, and select New Haven for the city.

“A decade after An Inconvenient Truth brought climate change into the heart of popular culture comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes—in moments both private and public, funny and poignant—as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion,” YPCC states.

An Inconvenient Sequel will also be showing at Madison Art Cinemas, 761 Boston Post Road, Madison starting Friday, Aug. 4.
