Are You Really Hungry?

The “little” burger was plenty big enough. Photo by Pem McNerney/The Source

If you’re really hungry and you’re in the mood for a burger, head right on over to the Ivoryton Tavern & Cafe, 8 Summitt Street, Ivoryton. The tavern, right around the corner from the Ivoryton Playhouse Theater, and within easy walking distance of the Ivoryton Farmer’s Market, held on Saturday mornings, offers three sizes, a mini-burger, a little burger, and The Tavern Burger. The mini is a mere quarter pound, which is to say, about the size of most burgers you might get while dining out. The “little” burger is a half pound. And The Tavern Burger is a generous pound of grilled ground meat. And, if that’s not enough, you also have the option of a Monster Burger, topped with sautéed onions, sliced mushrooms, four pieces of bacon, and three slices of Swiss cheese. If you don’t like burgers, there are plenty of other options as well, including salads, wraps, and quesadillas. And, at dinner time, the tavern serves up a dazzling array of specials, ranging from a buttery lobster roll to homemade beef pot pies. But if you’re really hungry and burgers are your thing, put the Ivoryton Tavern on your list of things to do and soon.
