A Cold Fried Chicken Picnic with a Side of Music

What’s better on a Sunday summer evening than a cold fried chicken picnic? Maybe that same picnic on the Madison Town Green, with a band playing a free concert nearby? That’s the thinking behind Chef Paul Barron’s latest endeavor, Cold Fried Chicken Picnics that should be ordered by noon on Saturday for pickup Sundays between 5 and 5:30 p.m. “Perfect for the Concerts on the Green or summer nights at the beach,” he said in a recent Facebook post. The picnic includes 10 pieces of 24-hour buttermilk brined chicken thighs and drumsticks, with red cabbage slaw, and jalapeno-cheddar cast iron cornbread.
