It’s a South Beach Summer at the Cafe


Cafe Routier Bistro & Lounge, 1353 Boston Post Road in Westbrook, has introduced a new Summer/South Beach Menu featuring fabulousness inspired by food from Miami to Havana. Espresso seared duck served with a side of cool mango chutney is tops on my list to try. Scallops are also on the menu, served with Spanish chorizo, cockles, roasted heirloom tomatoes, in a sweet corn and coriander broth. You’ll also find paella, packed with seafood of all sorts. And, they’re also offering one of my all-time favorites, “Summer on a Plate,” halibut over heirloom tomatoes, spinach, and a yum, yum, yummy corn basil butter sauce. I published the recipe last year and have made a version at home, but, honestly, nothing beats sitting down and having someone serve it up, perfectly cooked.
