Guilford Art Center (GAC) is offering a series of three, free community workshops, in honor of its 50th anniversary year. These free workshops are funded by a grant from the Guilford Foundation. The next workshop, designed for adults, is “Try Your Hand at Painting & Drawing” on Saturday, July 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at GAC.

This workshop is geared toward the adult absolute beginner to learn the basics of painting and drawing in a supportive, judgment-free session. Participants will spend the morning in the GAC studios and learn about basic techniques, materials, and approaches to working creatively in two dimensions.

“We are so fortunate that the Guilford Foundation is supporting the center in honor of our anniversary year, by allowing us to provide arts opportunities free of charge to our community members,” says GAC Executive Director Maureen Belden. “We hope that these workshops will spark participants’ creativity and connect them with the Center and all of our programming.”

Space is limited. The workshop is free, but registration is required at www.guilfordartcenter.org. For more information, visit www.guilfordartcenter.org or call 203-453-5947.
