Nibbles: Crepes at Turtle Cafe

I think the last time I’d been at Turtle Café was in 2014. I had been dying for the crepes, but they were out of crepes. Instead I had a frittata and that was stupendous. A few weeks ago, friends and I went to Al Forno in Old Saybrook and I realized that I hadn’t seen Linda Guica, co-owner with her husband, Bob Zemmel, and son, Ben, in way too long a time. So we met for breakfast at Turtle Café, an adorable place in Westbrook. This time I had my favorite crepes breakfast: thin, almost silky, crepes filled with chicken and mushrooms in a lemony sauce and served with a perfect green salad tossed with a not-too-vinegary vinaigrette. And I drank lots of coffee and we talked and talked. What a good way to begin a weekend.
