Book Talk: On Tyranny-Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century

Yale history professor and award-winning author Timothy Snyder will discuss his latest book, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from The Twentieth Century, on June 9, 7 p.m. at the Nathanael B. Green Community Center, 32 Church Street, Guilford. Snyder has written extensively on the conditions in Europe and Russia that led to the rise of authoritarianism. In his new book he instructs how to identify comparable conditions that can threaten democracy in the 21st century. Co-sponsored by Guilford Breakwater Books, CT Shoreline Indivisible, and the Adult Education Committee of Guilford First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, the event is free of charge.
