Knitting Class Open to All

A class will teach the fundamentals of knitting at the Deep River Library, 15 Main Street, Deep River, on Saturday, May 20 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Veteran crafter Wendy Sherman will focus on the purl stitch and how to bind off work. Those who came to the earlier class and have a work in progress should feel free to bring it.

If possible, participants should bring needles sizes 6 to 10 and a skein of smooth worsted weight yarn, preferably wool or wool blend. Some supplies will be available for purchase.

This program is free and open to everyone including children accompanied by an adult. Call the library to register at 860-526-6039 during service hours: Monday, 1 to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday 12:30 to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
