ARTFARM is sponsoring the Shakespeare Slam VII: Speak Truth to Power, a fundraiser for Shakespeare in the Grove on Saturday, May 6.

Performers are sought to prepare and perform anything, up to two minutes long, that speaks truth to power. It can be Shakespeare, but it is not required. Performers get into the party for free, but must have at least $50 in sponsorships from patrons to support their performance. Performers who raise the most money will be eligible for prizes.

The Shakespeare Slam is a fundraiser for this summer’s Shakespeare in the Grove production of Hamlet.

Those who would like to just attend the party can pay $25 for food, wine, beer, live music, Elizabethan and post-Elizabethan Frivolity, and of course the Slam Performers trying to out-do one another in creativity, outrageousness, and protest.

To register as a Slam performer, or get more information, email info@art-farm.org, call 860-346-4390, or visit www.art-farm.org/. ARTFARM is located at 119 Highland Avenue, Middletown.
